There were many furniture designers who made it big during the heyday of mid century modern design, which was around the 1960s to the 1970s. Many of these designers boasted of personalities as wild, crazy and distinct as the furniture that they created. However, Warren Platner proved to be different from these personalities, as he was known to be far less flamboyant, and actually, very quiet. This was a far cry from the most iconic furniture pieces that he came up with. Architect, interior designer and planner, Warren Platner produced a furniture collection that has proved to be a continuing icon of 1960s Modernism. He is also famed with designing several prominent interiors in New York, including headquarter offices for the Ford Foundation building and the original Windows on the World restaurant, atop the World Trade Centre.
