George Nelson
Architect and designer George Nelson (1908-1986) is widely considered one of the founding fathers of American modernism. Nelson was part of a generation of architects that found too few projects and turned successfully toward product, graphic and interior design. While Director of Design for the Herman Miller furniture company between 1945 and 1972, Nelson, and his design studio, George Nelson Associates, Inc., designed much of the 20th century’s most iconic, modernist furniture.
