Italian-born, French fashion designer Pierre Cardin is known for his avant-garde style and Space Age designs, preferring geometric shapes while ignoring the constraints of form and surroundings. Cardin studied architecture in post-war Paris and opened his own fashion house in 1950, after working for Christian Dior. Cardin enjoys designing 'out of context', whether doing sleeves for dresses or table legs. Read more about Pierre Cardin in our magazine.
