Norwegian-born Sigurd Resell's career as designer began when a drawing for a competition was praised by Niels Vodder, a master furniture-maker who collaborated on pieces with Finn Juhl. Later, a prototype was made from the drawing. In 1958, Resell's SR 600 won an award at Copenhagen Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibitions for craftsmen in Denmark. Resell’s characteristic 'Falcon' chair for Vatne Møbler, a Norwegian furniture manufacturer, has sold solidly in Europe for over 30 years.
